The winners of the 2020/21 Wool4School student design competition, as part of their prize, took part in an industry day during which they visited The Woolmark Company’s office in London and met fashion designer and 2020 International Woolmark Prize winner Richard Malone in his North London studio. Hear about the students’ Wool4School experiences, what they learned, and why wool is the world’s premium natural fibre.

2021/22 competition senior winner Eva Hayes

The theme of the 2021/22 Wool4School competition was ‘Design for your Hero’, in which we invited students to choose their hero and design a wool outfit for them that embodies their interpretation of sustainability.

Eva Hayes from Invicta Grammar School in Kent was the winner of the senior category for her fantastic designs for her hero, singer-songwriter Harry Styles.

2021/22 competition junior winner Elenya Beard

The theme of the 2021/22 Wool4School competition was ‘Design for your Hero’, in which we invited students to choose their hero and design a wool outfit for them that embodies their interpretation of sustainability.

For the second year in a row, Elenya Beard from Bishopston Comprehensive School in Swansea was the winner of the junior category for her wonderful design for her hero, para-triathlete Claire Danson who was paralysed following a cycling accident at the end of August 2019.

Keren’s design come to life

2019/20 Senior winner Keren Sondi from Greenford High School had her design come to life. Her design was then photographed in Sydney, Australia. Keren's design consists of a cap, body suit, thigh-high trainer boots and adjustable jacket aimed at inspiring women of all ages and body types to exercise.

Keren encourages students, 'Use this competition to unleash all your creativity and express yourself and interests. You will definitely surprise yourself with what you are capable of doing. So what are you waiting for? Turn your ideas into a reality!'
